About S. M. Memorial Trust

It was established in 1965 in a rural area of Cachar District of Assam to commemorate the illustrious memory of Late Dr. Sundari Mohan Das, one of the leading physicians of his time and with the independence movement of India as a great organizer and leader, he devoted his untiring zeal and energy, literally to his last days of life for the development of modern medical services and bringing those services within the reach of common man.

Our History

Late Dr.Kalyani Das Mishra inspired by her mother Late Suborna Prova Das,founded Sundari Mohan Seva Bhawan in the Memory of Late Dr. Sundari Mohan Das, the great physician, freedom fighter, social & cultural activist, Founder-Principal of National College & Chittaranjan Hospital, Calcutta and Universal drug House. The foundation Stone was laid down on 31st March 1961 by Late Dr. Apurba Dutta, M.B.Chief Minister of Assam Late Bimala Prosad Chaliha, on 29th December 1965.

About Hospital

Sundari Mohan Seva Bhawan is a non-Govt. public Institution devoted to the service of the people. This institution undertakes any work connected with the treatment of diseases of the people with all sorts of curative and preventive measures. The constant endeavour of this institution is to bring the benefits of modern medical facilities to the easy reach of the rural people.
